Pitch Pine Parquet Restoration in Sutton, Surrey
Last week saw the restoration of a very old pitch pine parquet floor in Sutton, Surrey. The sanding was carried out initially with our top-of-the-range, Lagler Hummel sanding machine which sands the floor dust free (very popular with our customers!). This is then followed by a sand with our Lagler Trio orbital sanding machine (seen in one of the pictures), which gives the floor a lovely smooth finish, also dust free. We then sand around the edges with our Lagler Flip edging sander (as modelled by Peter in the photo!). Once the sanding has been completed, we then apply a Bona Primer, in this case we used Bona Prime UX, which is then followed by two coats of Bona Mega One varnish. It’s important not to apply more than two coats of primer/varnish in one day as it can cause wood swelling, so we make sure to split it across two days. As you can see from the pictures, we got a great result and our customer was really pleased.
