Pitch Pine Parquet Restoration in Coulsdon

Last week I worked in Coulsdon and restored a very old, tired-looking pitch pine parquet that had a lot of loose blocks. Sticking the blocks back down required them first to be lifted, I then numbered them all so I knew exactly where they belonged, and then applied a coat of PVA to the sub-floor underneath, which really helps the adhesive to stick. I finally stuck the blocks back down with a very strong adhesive.

The next step was to carry out a few other repairs where small pieces of some the blocks were missing. This was then followed by dust-free sanding with my top-of-the-range machinery, and lastly, a coat of Bona Natural primer then two coats of Bona Traffic varnish which is extremely hard-wearing and will withstand wear from footfall for many years.
