Pine Floorboard Restoration in Tadworth

Last week I worked in Tadworth and restored some very old-looking pine floorboards. The customer was keen to have the gaps filled between the boards, so I used a mixture of 6mm and 8mm reclaimed pine slivers to fill the gaps. Doing this is quite time consuming, firstly, strong wood glue needs to be poured into the gaps so that it coats the sides of the boards, a pine sliver is then hammered into the gap (the slivers are wedge-shaped and pointy on one side, to get between the boards). Once they are in place and the glue has dried, I then go around with a multi-tool, and cut the parts of the slivers that are sticking out above the boards. This is then followed by a full, dust-free sand, followed by a coat of Bona primer, and two coats of Bona Traffic Go varnish. As you can see from the pictures, I got an excellent result.
